F.A.Q.
Some of the questions we've been asked by our clients. If a question you have is not covered below, contact us through our
Contact page and we'll get right back to you. Usually within one day.
- What do you mean by a Virtual Office?
A good question. With advances in communication and technology, the overhead of brick and mortar offices just doesn't seem to make as much sense as it once did. So, we keep our overhead (and stress) low by taking advantage of a 'Virtual-office' concept: people who work remotely, tied together via email, video conferencing, and a common objective. It's not for everyone but it seems to work well for us.
- We're a contracting company located in [deleted], and we were wondering if your company would be interested in working with us to meet the needs of one of our clients. It's an opportunity with [deleted] and is [deleted]. Is that something your company would be interested in?
Yes we can, and it's something we've done in the past. There are several things to discuss and work out. It depends really on the needs and requirements of the client and how your agreements with them are structured. We're insured, bonded, use riders, etc. - and have all the same insurances as you carry. ..
- I saw from your contact page that you are a Virtual Office. Can your architects and engineers work remotely? Do they have experience and the equipment to do that ?
Yes they do. When we work remotely we usually travel for important meetings, and typically we're in house during an initial 'get-to-know-you' period, but we can and do work remotely. We've found it's very productive, with less distractions, overhead, and paperwork. Generally speaking we prefer to be on-site (communication issues) but that's not always possible. It always depends on the client's needs, wants, and situation.
- "What's this 'Architect for a half day' thing, and how does it work. Is it really free? No strings attached?"
It's all about open communication and collaboration, and yes - it's free.
Basically one of our architects comes on site or participates remotely; you have an opportunity to describe [in confidence] any challenges, problems, and issues you or your team is facing. It's a chance for objective insight. An opportunity to discuss the pluses and minuses of solutions, to clarify, and get supporting, validating opinions.
We'll tell you up front if we think we can help, and it can last for up to half a day. If it happens to lead to other things, good. If not, that's equally good.
Information on non-disclosure and privacy is found on our privacy policy page. Contact us for additional information or to schedule. We can easily meet up through Skype, WebEx, or in a face-to-face.
- How many years has your company been in business?
Prime Technology Group was incorporated in 1998. So 20 years.
- The Services section of your website is a litle short on detail. Can you tell me what databases and warehouse technologies you support?
We apologize for that and we're aware of the issue. We plan to address that in the next iteration of our website. Database technologies we support are Microsoft's SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase. We do have experience with other databases; a lot of times our clients ask us to work with other databases like MongoDB, MySQL, etc. just to name a few. As far as data warehouse technologies go, SAP Hana and just about any structure based on Kimball, Inmon, or any hybrid of those.
